Chores

Managing your home with a chronic illness can be a real challenge, especially during symptom flare ups. Limited mobility and energy can make some tasks impossible.

I have created daily/weekly & monthly schedules that I would love to stick to, some days I can manage all of the daily tasks, other days I  can't even manage one.

Some days my ability/energy levels differ, so completing certain chores arent possible. Some days I can only manage to get out of bed.

The lists are just to remind me of the chores that need to be completed. If they are not done, that is OK, tomorrow is another day.

These lists are just examples and may not be suitable for all as all chronic illnesses affect people in different ways.

Chore lists

As well as daily tasks I need to keep on top of the deeper cleans.

To do this, I pick a room each day and try to do a 30 minute clean in that room. If I’m not able to do a 30 minute clean I will do 2 15 minute sessions with a break in between. It is important to pace yourself to minimise burn outs.

If you can’t manage a 30/15 minute clean, tackling one area of that room is also an achievement. Don’t beat yourself up over what you can’t do. Celebrate what you can do.
